Who:

The CRAIC Show, a four-piece themed musical act that blends the haunting sounds of medieval bagpipes with a slew of percussion instruments including drums, swords, and even pots and pans! Audiences love THE CRAIC Show’s skits and entertaining stage antics. The group performs frequently at renaissance fairs and has been favorably compared to STOMP or The Blue Man Group, with just a touch more “medieval-ness!”

Are you in a band? Your fans will love custom band tattoos!

The Need:

The band needed a way to thank its loyal fans and came up with the idea of giving away custom tattoos at live shows. They planned to put the tattoos by their tip basket, as a way to say "thank you."

The Tattoo:

The Gaelic word “craic” translates roughly to “fun,” and these tattoos are tons of fun! The design features the name of the band in an antique looking font with the band’s signature image of two laughing skulls below. The CRAIC Show included their website address on the back of the tattoo, above the application instructions.

The Results:

The band members noticed fans interacting with the tattoos right away, with some of the female pirate fans placing the tattoos on their chests and male fans placing them on their heads or faces. After introducing the tattoos, The CRAIC Show’s tips increased by 25 percent! After live shows, the band posted pictures of fans wearing the tattoos on their Facebook page. In the future, The CRAIC Show plans to use tattoos to increase awareness, engage with fans, and thank fans who leave tips at live events.

3 Tips for Using Tattoos to Promote Your Band

If you are in a band and want to try using custom tattoos at a live performance, remember the following three tips:

  1. Incentivize Tips and Purchases. Put your custom tattoos near your tip basket or merchandise table to thank loyal fans who give you tips or purchase a CD or t-shirt.
  2. Include Custom Text on the Back. When you print custom tattoos put your website URL, social media links, or any other custom text on the back of the tattoo. Get creative and maybe even put your favorite song lyrics on there too.
  3. Take Photos of Fans. Snap photos of fans wearing your tattoos and put them on your website or Facebook . This is an awesome way to get fans to come to your Facebook page and stay updated about your upcoming shows and news.

Having read this I believed it was extremely enlightening.

I appreciate you spending some time and energy to put this article together.

I once again find myself spending a significant amount of time both reading and leaving comments.

But so what, it was still worth it!
